word is coming down the pike that Toshiba will be making some changes
directly related to construction and pricing of their high end bipolar
rf transistor devices soon. 

in the manufacturing end, they will be replacing the beryllia oxide 
ceramics with a less heat-friendly aluminum oxide material. in addition
to this engineering change order, prices will be moving upward shortly
to reflect the pressure of inflation and higher oil costs.

at the consumer end we will see increased prices for these devices and
we will also discover the need for mandatory de-rating for equipment
that these devices are used in, due to the decrease in heat transfer
created by the manufacturing change in the ceramics used.
