Hey guys, thanks for the info on some of these shops. Unfortunately, I bought a general lee 10 meter from radioactiveradios. They said buy it here be heard clear. Well, I have had the radio for four months and have never been complimented on the sound quality of my radio. Also, I drive a semi and have the radio mounted on the dash. If the sun shines into the cab onto the radio, forget it . The radio is a squeal box. Like a stuck pig! My external speaker jack on the back of the radio broke loose and doesnt work now. I have been running radios for nearly 10 years and have never come across that problem. That guy Mike at radioactiveradios sure does like to boast about how good he is with radios.I will never buy another thing from that radio site. They do not list their prices or put up an address either. They are expensive, and from what I have seen from them, not very good at working on radios. Beware of radioactiveradios! I purchased a general-lee with superwack pack from radio active radios. What a pile of junk. As soon as I hooked it up, it never worked right.People would say that all I do is dead key and then when I did get it to work ,people would say that I sound like I'm sitting in the sleeper of the truck. They said that I sound like I'm 100 miles away from the mic.I called the so called tech ,his name was Mike and he told me I need to run new coax, a new antenna ,a new bracket and a new mic,and a 10 to 12 gauge wire to the battery to power the radio.I did all that before the radio was ever installed,I figured a new radio needs new running gear and still no luck .I then called him back and he got rather rood and said I must be an idiot because no way was it his so called hot rod radio.I told him thats strange because I hook my little uniden up to the same setup and it works fine.He told me to send the general lee in and they would then look at it.I did so,and he calls me back a week later and said the radio works fine, there is nothing wrong with it.I then told him if there was nothing wrong with it then why would I be sending it to you.He got pretty ticked off on that one.He said he would stick it in the freezer to see if they could find something wrong with the board.Well still no luck. He sent the radio back and said its on my end.I find that odd when I can talk anywhere with my little peaked and tuned uniden, with my swr's running around 1.3, on the same set up.The radio never works the same way twice ,you never know how it will work each time you try and talk on it.All I have to say is BUYERS BEWARE OF THE SO CALLED BUY IT HERE AND BE HEARD, FROM RADIOACTIVE RADIOS.JUST CALL THEM RADIOACTIVE C.B. RADIO TRASH,maybe they should paint their radios yellow because they sure are lemons.Junk, Junk ,Junk, and very rood, kinda talk down to you, techs.Never will I do or send anybody to their sight to do business with them. Thanks and take care,Dave..Oh ya one more thing I asked them about their so called 100% warranty for life,He told me if we cant find the problem ,your shit out of luck, and I told him, WOW! what an expensive paper weight. I made a huge mistake, and purchased a "Superwhackpack" 2970DX from Radioactiveradios. The radio cost $630. The radio arrived off frequency, (i purchased it for ssb use only) so I called them and they said the other stations must be off. So I took it to my local shop, and had lsb aligned. So I started talking on the radio and it got HOT. I mean HOT.The variable power control does nothing! Ok, how much would you charge me to "unwhackpack" it.
