For my first cb mod experience, I took in a Connex 3300 to get one of his "famous" power conversion mods. After walking out of his shop, I promptly hooked it back up in my truck, and was only intermittently able to receive ANYTHING. A buddy, who had stopped with me, was sitting close enough to me so that I had a very clear view of him, was trying to talk to me over the radio, and I didnt hear,(read receive) a word he was saying. Same channel, same band, 20 feet from each other, yet, could not pick him up. Since I was in a hurry to get home, I didnt take the radio back in until the next day. His "technician" quickly told me that even though my radio worked flawlessly before I brought it in, it "was not possible" that the problems with my radio were resulting from anything their shop had did. Obviously, I had something weak in my radio, which must have failed because of the amount of power it was now supposed to be pushing, so I was charged again to get my radio fixed. (supposedly) After about another week of the same problems, I brought my radio back to them and demanded it be fixed. For two weeks, I was promised every day that it would be fixed later in the day, until I threatened to take my radio to someone who knew what they were doing. At this point, the "cb doctor" told me that he would see to it that his "technician" would fix it as soon as he came in that day, to which I quickly told him that it was in fact HIS responsibility to fix it, because HE was in fact the one that worked on it in the first place. Finally, the next day, I was able to pick my radio up, however still with the same problems, only alot less frequent. His work and reputation is so bad, on any given day, if you sit near his shop for more than a half hour listening to the radio after he starts advertising, you will likely hear more than a dozen drivers criticizing the shabby work that he does. Not only that, he has the nerve to publicly claim on the radio that he was one of the top technicians at Galaxy, he was the one that got Palomar in business, and that Connex stole their design FROM HIM. This guy has no business working on valuable radios that people spend their hard earned money on.
