3:50 PM 8/13/2008 THE BODY NEEDS Ascorbate TO MAKE: COLLAGEN BLOODVESSELS, capillaries BONES, TENDONS, LIGAMENTS SPINAL DISKS SKIN ADRENALINE CARNITINE: for muscle function INTERFERON NEURO-TRANSMITTERS STIMULATES IMMUNE SYSTEM WHITE BLOOD CELL PRODUCTION ANTIBODY PRODUCTION When the viruses, bacteria, allergic reaction, etc., damage cells and their mitochondria, free radicals are produced. These free radicals damage adjacent mitochondria and cells. This results in a free radical cascade. These free radicals destroy the ascorbate in the diseased area. When all of the ascorbate in an area is destroyed, the phagocytes are unab to kill the virus, bacteria, etc. I call this condition acute Induced scurvy. HIGH DOSAGE Ascorbate NEUTRALIZES: VIRAL INFECTIONS, Pneumonia, Influenza, etc. BACTERIAL TOXINS, Streptococcus, etc. TETANUS HISTAMINE AFLATOXINS BARBITURATES HEROIN & MORPHINE WITHDRAWAL COBRA VENOM, RATTLESNAKE VENOM BLACK WIDOW, BROWN RECLUSE SPIDER, AND SCORPION BITES Adequate doses of ascorbate will cure or ameliorate a disease proportionally to how important free radicals are in the perpetuation of the disease or its symptoms. Examples of diseases where free radicals seem essential in the perpetuation of the disease. All acute self-limiting viral diseases Colds, flu, measles, mumps, chickenpox, Rubella, mononucleosis, viral pneumonia Hepatitis A, B, C, etc., Poliomyelitis (Klenner), Etc. Fred R. Klenner, M.D. The Treatment of Poliomyelitis and Other Virus Diseases with Vitamin C. Southern Medicine and Surgery, Volume III, Number 7, p.209-214, July 1949. Bacterial Diseases Ascorbate should usually be used in combination with the appropriate antibiotic. However, in some cases the immune system will destroy the bacteria without the assistance of the antibiotic when ascorbate is used in sufficient amounts. Usually more basic antibiotics can be used. Ascorbate eliminates the allergic reactions to antibiotics. Chronic bacterial infections such as chronic otitis media respond rapidly. Allergy Hayfever and asthma can be treated with oral ascorbic acid if the patient is quite tolerant to the acid. In the majority of patients with asthma steroid and inhalants can be discontinued. Allergies are not cured but the symptoms are mostly eliminated if the person can tolerate enough ascorbate to neutralize all the free radicals generated by the allergy. Anaphylaxis is the result of more generalized Acute Induced Scurvy affecting the organs manifesting the symptoms and can be immediately neutralized or prevented by sufficient doses of ascorbate. Autoimmune Diseases These are difficult because they are chronic and only the most tolerant to ascorbic acid can significantly suppress symptoms. Large doses of intravenous sodium ascorbate can markedly ameliorate flares of RA and Lupus. Nuisance problems: 1. Gas 2. Diarrhea 1. Bowel tolerance 2. Irritation of previous problems 3. Burning of the stomach 4. Damage to the enamel of teeth 5. Mouth ulcers 6. Irritation of hemorrhoids No Kidney Stones It may be that the reason that persons taking large doses of ascorbate do not develop calcium oxalate kidney stones is that the spillage of ascorbate in the urine sterilizes the urine and prevents the nidus of infection necessary around which the stone forms. While it is true that the majority of people are tolerant to large doses of ascorbic acid orally and can treat a number of serious infectious and allergy diseases, it is important to understand that others, intolerant to large doses of ascorbic acid by mouth, can be treated for serious acute problems with intravenous sodium ascorbate. For instance, a 90 year old with viral pneumonia can be treated with IVC even if he has a duodenal ulcer..
